Become a member of Bay Localize! A $35 donation not only makes you a member of Bay Localize, but also gives you a one-year subscription to the Earth Island magazine. Please help us build a more self-reliant and resilient Bay Area, and become a member today!
Get involved with our projects:
- Live in the East Bay? The Local Clean Energy Alliance is a multi-sectoral coalition working to build support for clean energy development in the East Bay. Together we can gain greater control over our energy future and help area cities reach their goal of supplying 50% renewable power to their residents by 2017. Join the Local Clean Energy Alliance today!
- Don't live in the East Bay? Become a leader in your community and advocate for local clean energy in your area. The Local Clean Energy Alliance has outlined a plan for the East Bay, which includes a basket of policy mechanisms that can be replicated and adapted. Learn more about the local clean energy platform.
- Help organize a localization caucus or forum. We're looking for activists and community groups to help us stage caucuses and forums on localization topics throughout the Bay Area. Do you know of a great venue in an activated community? Do you just love planning events? Get in touch and let's talk about how we can work together.
- Review, pilot, or distribute the Community Resilience Toolkit. The Toolkit is the centerpiece of our Bay Area 2020 program and is currently in the final stages of development. We're looking for expert eyes to peer review, energized community groups to pilot, and help getting the word out around the Bay. Let us know how you can help.
- Distribute or promote the Use Your Roof guidebook. Newly released and long-awaited, Use Your Roof introduces homeowners to the joys and benefits of rooftop resource systems, offers resources and tips, and guides them through an assessment of the most appropriate rooftop technology for their building. Do you know a homeowner in need of a good guidebook? Do you know a bookstore that might want to carry same? Help us get the word out and get those roofs planted!
- Participate in the rooftop resources web gallery. Our interactive web gallery showcases local and exemplary solar power, rainwater catchment, and living rooftop projects. The aim is public education and inspiration, and the gallery is growing by the day. Add your voice and your images.
