July 25: Heartbeat of Oakland Parade

The Heartbeat of Oakland is a 1-mile community walk (Parade) to promote community health and togetherness. The walk will start at the SE corner of Market and 40th Streets, continue down the 40th St. sidewalk to Webster St., turn right onto Webster St. and end at Mosswood Park.

At the park we will all gather to cool down from our walk, eat (Picnic), share our stories about living in the neighborhood and speak to each other about what we see as possible for North Oakland. We will be filming the contributions of individuals who wish to be videotaped and these will be shared online.

WHEN: Saturday, July 25th, 11 am - 3 pm

WHERE: Market and 40th Streets, Oakland

This event is hosted by community members, for community members. We have received guidance from the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Bay Localize, Urban Peace Movement, Heartwalker Studio and others. Gym Class Fitness and the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse will be leading two of the day's activities.

This is a unique opportunity for YOU to listen to what your neighbors have to share and share whatever you wish with your community!
